Last night we had a great curry in Logrono. Thanks to Indian Khan's, all totally finished!! Siobhan always ordered too much!! Anyway, Logrono is a beautiful city with a fantastic cathedral so I lit my usual candle for my beloved.
Rest in Peace my darling.
We set off this morning at 5 determined to beat the heat. 30k trekking through the abundant Rioja vineyards was beautiful but we arrived tired and thirsty in the next town Najera. Found a nice cheap Pension with a view out of our window.
It's difficult to type on a phone, but I want to introduce you to our fellow travellers. We meet up at various times because we set off from the start at the same time. I will have to change the names but I can promise you that like Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, they all have their own stories. Today we had lunch with Dave from Harrogate. He is retired but worked 30 years at Midland bank having left school at 16 with no qualifications and ascending to Personnel Manager for the north of the UK. He has done the Camino 3 times. There are also 2 mad Australian ladies who plan to drink a bottle of wine every 10k, Mickey who was a career soldier with 5 tours in Afghanistan and others. I will try and update you as we progress.
