Rather disturbed evening !!
The Day of the Cross processions continued until midnight. It interfered with my normal dose of Friday night satire : Have I got news for You and Plank of the Week which between the two of them give a balanced view of the political spectrum. Both are on YouTube for the expats with the latter on TalkTv with Mike Graham. It is nice to listen to Jeremy Kyle but boy can he talk and the other panel members struggle to get a word in! Anyway, I did open my door and watch the procession go by. I mean what is life without local colour and tradition. You can see that the road is covered with sprigs of rosemary and the smell was fantastic. Pity that I was not planning lamb for Sunday! Amazingly, it was all cleared away by this morning.

Woke up this morning missing Siobhan more than usual. It's strange when you think you know where you are and what you are planning for the future and in a short time, somehow the reset button gets pushed and you find yourself in a dark tunnel trying to find the light even that only represents a future that can never be the same. Thankfully, I was jolted out of my mournful reverie by the welcome ping of my mobile and a Whatsapp from my old friend John Apps. John has kindly agreed to join me on the Camino. His message : "Just on my way down from Everest base camp!!"

That got me thinking that I really needed to get on with my training. Fortunately, our good friend Matt was at the door and together with his dog Tango, we set off on a 10K hike behind Alhaurin el Grande where I live. Beautiful Andalucian day 27 degrees. You just have to feel good. I also got more donations and a lovely post on the Ovacome instagram account. That raises your spirits.
