Long slog today, out of Leon at 5am and 38k along very straight never ending roads. Gives you lots of time to think. Only the sound of frogs in the ditches beside the road to keep you company. I took time to consider the Camino as a whole but in particular the people who come.
What really impressed me is the camaraderie and respect you are afforded. Nobody judges how fast or slow you go or if you use the luggage delivery services rather than carry everything yourself. It's your Camino and you play by your own rules which are nobody else's business. People talk and are genuinely interested in you.
The local Spanish always say hello and back it up with "buen Camino!". Tonight, we had dinner with two lovely American ladies and sat laughing and joking with them for a long time. In summary, it's hard but fun with great people
That's where we had dinner, looking out over the bridge.
