Since Siobhan died, this project has become our passion and our salvation. Both ovarian cancer end bereavement are killers in their own way, Stage 1(the earliest) ovarian cancer has a chance of survival after 5 years of 80%. That may sound OK but it means that 1 in 5 will die before then. The problem is that by the time it gets diagnosed, it has already spread because it doesn't cause any symptoms. This is what happened with Siobhan, by the time we found out her chance of living 5 years was down to 50%, essentially like tossing a coin. Unfortunately, when we tossed the coin, we lost.
Hopefully, with your help, we can fund research to improve the odds and we hope that in the future, other lives will be saved.
Many thanks
Steve and Olivia Eckersall (Siobhan´s husband and her daughter)
